Christina Shintani

Christina Shintani is a cartographer at Woodwell Climate Research Center where she makes maps that communicate climate science for just, meaningful impact to address the climate crisis. Previously she was a Graphics Editor at National Geographic where she made maps on topics ranging from climate change to conservation and biodiversity. Her work is published in National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Atlas of Design, and the International Journal of Remote Sensing, and has received map awards from the North American Cartographic Information Society, Cartography and Geographic Information Society, Avenza, and the University of Oregon. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, reading, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her partner and dog. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
